Spectrum Brands is a global consumer products company, with the Home & Personal Care (HPC) division designing and manufacturing small domestic appliances and personal care products used by millions of consumers worldwide.

We are looking for a Regulatory Compliance Specialist with experience in manufacturing and physical consumer products to support global product compliance across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

This is a product and manufacturing compliance role - not a finance, GDPR, or enterprise risk position.

As a Regulatory Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical global role in ensuring that HPC products meet international, federal, and local regulatory requirements. Supporting markets across North America, Europe, Asia, and Latin America, you'll collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, product development, quality, and supply chain teams to manage compliance across the full product lifecycle. This is a highly impactful position, central to product safety, regulatory alignment, sustainability goals, and customer trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure consumer products meet global regulatory, safety, environmental, and energy efficiency requirements (e.g. FCC, Energy Star, RoHS, REACH, WEEE, ERP, Prop 65, PFAS).
  • Work closely with Engineering, NPD, Quality, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing partners to embed compliance into product design and production.
  • Support regulatory compliance across the full product lifecycle — concept, development, manufacturing, launch, and post-market.
  • Partner with OEM/ODM manufacturers, suppliers, and testing laboratories to gather compliance documentation and resolve non-conformances.
  • Prepare and manage regulatory submissions, technical files, and customer compliance requests.
  • Represent the business on relevant industry trade groups and standards committees.
  • Support social responsibility programs (e.g. BSCI, CTPAT) and product sustainability initiatives.
About You

This role requires a regulatory compliance professional with proven experience in global product standards and a strong ability to collaborate across diverse teams and functions. Someone who is organised, detail-driven, and confident navigating complex regulatory environments will thrive here. The ideal candidate brings a proactive mindset, strong analytical capabilities, and the maturity to work independently while influencing stakeholders across the business.

You will bring:
  • Degree in engineering, regulatory compliance, environmental science, product safety, or similar.
  • 4+ years' experience in regulatory compliance within consumer products, appliances, electronics, or FMCG manufacturing.
  • Hands-on experience supporting New Product Development (NPD) and product launches.
  • Experience working directly with manufacturers, suppliers, factories, or testing bodies.
  • Strong understanding of how regulations impact product design, materials, manufacturing, and go-to-market timelines.
  • Confident communicator with strong analytical and organisational skills.

Please note experience limited to GDPR, financial compliance, internal audit, or enterprise risk management (without physical product exposure) will not be suitable.

Why Join Us?

Work on real, manufactured products sold globally, influencing product safety, sustainability, and compliance while collaborating cross-functionally within a global consumer products business. Apply if you have a product-focused regulatory background in manufacturing or consumer goods.

Benefits
  • 25 days holiday + Bank holidays, with option to buy additional 5
  • Company Pension – up to 9% matched employer contribution
  • Annual bonus
  • Life Assurance
  • Health care plan
  • Colleague discount
  • Hybrid Working (3 days on site, 2 days WFH)
