We are seeking a Technical Author with proven experience in creating comprehensive and legally compliant Instruction Booklets (IBs).
This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality IBs for all markets within the International Region—spanning the UK, EMEA, and APAC. You will work across our entire brand portfolio, producing multilingual documents that adhere to local regulations and meet consumer needs.
The role will form part of the Global Marketing team, working with all its functions and liaising with a counterpart responsible for IB product in the Americas (NA, US, and LATAM).
As a Technical Author, you will manage the entire process, from taking a brief to delivering final assets. You will liaise with various teams (marketing, legal, technical engineers) ensuring that all IBs are accurate, user-friendly, and meet legal requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the creation of all Instruction Booklets (IBs) for the International Region (UK, EMEA, APAC) across brands: Russell Hobbs, PowerXL, Remington, and George Foreman.
- Take ownership of the IB creation process, from drafting clear, concise instructions to creating illustrations and PDFs in InDesign.
- Collaborate with legal, marketing, and technical teams to ensure that all IBs are fully compliant with relevant standards and legislation.
- Coordinate the translation of IBs into required languages for different markets within the EMEA region, working with external companies and regional marketing teams.
- Deliver final assets to vendors and upload completed IBs to internal systems.
- Work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects and meeting tight deadlines without compromising on quality.
- Maintain warranty cards and ensure they are up-to-date across all brands.
About You
- Proven experience in creating Instruction Booklets (IBs) is essential.
- Strong copywriting skills with the ability to explain complex product usage clearly and concisely for end users.
- Knowledge of compliance standards for international markets, with a particular focus on the EMEA region, is desirable.
- Proficient in InDesign software; experience with Corel Draw is a plus.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of working in a multicultural environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines and take ownership of projects.
- Organisational skills to manage documentation and processes efficiently.
- Background in Engineering with an understanding of electrical appliances is desirable but not essential.
