Join Our Team as a Graphic Designer (6 Month Maternity Cover)
Are you a creative powerhouse with a keen eye for design and a passion for visual storytelling? Spectrum Brands is seeking a talented Graphic Designer to join our team for a 6-month maternity cover. In this role, you\’ll be the visual storyteller, crafting the visual identity of our company\’s message across multiple mediums and brands.
The Role
As a key member of our in-house design team, you\’ll collaborate closely with the Studio Manager and other team members to produce captivating designs using industry-standard software like Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
Your duties will include assisting in the creation of logos, promotional materials, point-of-sale displays, and packaging for our various brands, including Russell Hobbs, Remington, and George Foreman. Ensuring consistency in brand identity across all channels is crucial, as well as progressing approved designs to artwork and coordinating with suppliers for seamless execution.
You\’ll play a vital role in maintaining quality standards by liaising with vendors during the printing process and providing art direction to the photography team during product shoots. Working closely with marketing teams to achieve project objectives and utilising project support software like PowerPoint, Excel, and MS Word will be part of your daily routine. Managing filing systems to ensure organised storage of completed work and adherence to packaging completion procedures is also essential, along with supporting the digital team in executing multimedia campaigns.
About you
We\’re looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years of design experience, preferably in an agency or in-house team setting. Proficiency in packaging design, typography, illustration, photography retouching, and colour & image manipulation is necessary. Familiarity with Adobe CC (Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator) is essential, as is the ability to complete full end-to-end design and print processes.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work on varied briefs, along with competency in photography retouching/manipulation, are also required. Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet tight deadlines, as well as the capacity to multitask effectively, are traits we value in our candidates.
Experience with Keyshot or equivalent 3D software, proficiency in Adobe After Effects/Premiere Pro, and web design experience are desirable skills that would be advantageous in this role.
