At Spectrum Brands, our Legal department is looking for a Junior Legal Counsel to join the International Home and Personal Care division (covering EMEA and APAC). You’ll play a key role in supporting household name brands including Russell Hobbs, Remington, and George Foreman.
This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a close-knit international team, gaining exposure to a wide variety of legal matters across commercial, corporate, regulatory, and IP. You’ll collaborate with colleagues at all levels of the business, contributing to strategic projects and ensuring legal support is aligned with commercial objectives.
The Role
- Act as the primary legal contact for Distributor matters, including drafting and reviewing Distribution Agreements.
- Provide project support to the wider legal team, working closely with Legal Counsel and the Senior Director.
- Deliver day-to-day legal support across a range of areas, including commercial contracts, IT, operations, employment, data privacy, insurance, and intellectual property.
- Assist the Senior Director on Regulatory and Quality matters.
- Review and approve marketing and advertising materials, including claims development, influencer agreements, and digital campaigns, working hand in hand with central and local Marketing teams.
- Support on corporate governance and cross-border transactions.
- Collaborate closely with the US legal team and colleagues across EMEA and APAC, ensuring consistency in advice and compliance.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, helping to streamline processes and support business growth.
About you
To be considered for this role, candidates must:
- Be a qualified solicitor with 2+ years’ PQE, gained either in private practice or in-house.
- Have strong experience in commercial contracts; additional exposure to marketing, IP, data protection, or regulatory work would be advantageous.
- Be a commercially minded advisor, able to balance legal risk with business priorities.
- Be highly organised, adaptable, and confident in managing multiple projects with shifting priorities.
- Be a collaborative team player with a positive, proactive approach and excellent communication skills.
- Be curious and eager to broaden your expertise across multiple legal disciplines within a dynamic global business.
