What’s The Job?

We’re building Palette, our Kubernetes management platform designed for technical practitioners—platform teams, DevOps engineers, and system administrators running Kubernetes at scale across cloud and on-prem environments. We’re looking for a Product Manager to lead fleet and platform management capabilities—the common foundation that powers all clusters, across all environments. This role focuses on the horizontal platform layer of Palette: the shared capabilities that make large-scale Kubernetes operations reliable, observable, scalable, and usable—regardless of where clusters run. You’ll own the core product experience and operational foundations that every user depends on, every day. As a result, this role is ideal for a hands-on, technically strong PM who enjoys digging into details, collaborating deeply with engineers, and shipping meaningful improvements for real users.

Location: Remote, but must be living in the UK

What You’ll Work On

  • Managing Kubernetes fleets at scale
  • Consistent, reliable day-2 operations
  • Platform-wide usability, performance, and scale
  • Cross-cutting concerns that apply to every cluster and user
  • Foundations that enable other product areas to move faster

This includes defining how users:

  • Operate and maintain large numbers of clusters
  • Apply changes safely and consistently
  • Monitor health, drift, and compliance
  • Discover, manage, and act on resources at scale
  • Trust the platform as it grows in size and complexity

What You’ll be Responsible For

  • Owning the product direction and execution for fleet-level and platform-wide capabilities.
  • Defining and evolving shared abstractions, workflows, and UX patterns used across the product.
  • Translating operator and platform team needs into clear product requirements and priorities.
  • Owning and shaping backlogs for your product areas, and partnering day-to-day with engineering to clarify requirements, make tradeoffs, and drive high-quality delivery.
  • Collaborating with other PMs to ensure consistency across cloud, edge, and environment-specific experiences.
  • Ensuring the platform performs reliably at scale as customers grow to hundreds or thousands of clusters.
  • Supporting releases and adoption through feature descriptions, documentation inputs, demos, and collaboration with Field, Support, and Customer Success.

What You’ll Drive

  • Fleet-scale user experiences and workflows
  • Platform-wide consistency and usability
  • Cross-cutting product standards and patterns
  • Reliability, performance, and scale outcomes
  • Alignment between product, engineering, and UX on shared foundations

About You

You LOVE technology because you’re curious, and you enjoy working on complex systems where small decisions have large downstream impact. You’ll do well in this role if you have:

  • 3–7+ years of product management experience, ideally with infrastructure or platform products
  • Strong experience building horizontal platform capabilities
  • A solid understanding of Kubernetes and cloud-native systems
  • Deep empathy for operators managing systems at scale
  • Comfort owning cross-cutting, platform-level product areas
  • Strong product judgment and ability to make tradeoffs
  • Excellent collaboration skills with engineering and design
  • A bias toward outcomes, not just feature delivery

Nice to Have

  • Professional Degree or relevant working experience
  • Experience with fleet management, control planes, or large-scale distributed systems
  • Exposure to or participation in CNCF Special Interest Groups (SIGs), working groups, or open-source communities is a plus
  • Experience supporting hybrid or multi-cloud environments
  • Exposure to UX design for complex technical products
  • Kubernetes certification (CKA / CKAD)

We don’t expect candidates to check every box, but if you’re excited about driving the future of Kubernetes platforms, we encourage you to apply!

What You’ll Gain

  • An opportunity to work with experts in Kubernetes management, infrastructure and edge orchestration.
  • Be part of a highly technical work culture where it’s encouraged to experiment, build proofs-of-concept, and demonstrate their value to the business.
  • High exposure to senior product, engineering leadership, and company founders.

Why This Role Matters

This role shapes the core of the Palette platform. The quality of fleet management, usability, and scale directly determines customer success as they grow. You’ll define the foundations that every other product area builds on.
