We are seeking a confident and technically strong Dispute Resolution Solicitor to join our growing team in Farringdon. This is an excellent opportunity for a Solicitor with solid litigation experience who is looking to develop their career within a collaborative, high-performing legal team. The successful candidate will manage a varied caseload of dispute resolution matters and will work closely with Directors, Senior Solicitors and other members of the team on complex and strategically important cases.
The role will involve advising clients on a wide range of disputes, progressing matters efficiently, drafting legal documents and correspondence, undertaking negotiations, liaising with Counsel and experts, and ensuring that all matters are handled with strong technical ability, commercial awareness and excellent client care. The successful candidate should be confident in managing litigation matters, understanding court processes and deadlines, and providing clear, practical advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a caseload of dispute resolution matters with appropriate supervision
- Advise clients on a range of civil and commercial disputes
- Draft correspondence, pleadings, witness statements, instructions to Counsel and other legal documents
- Progress matters efficiently in line with court deadlines, client expectations and internal procedures
- Conduct legal research and apply relevant law and procedure to client matters
- Liaise with clients, opponents, experts, Counsel, courts and third parties
- Prepare for hearings, mediations, settlement discussions and other dispute resolution processes
- Identify risks, limitation issues and key strategic considerations on files
- Maintain accurate file notes and ensure the case management system is kept up to date
- Work collaboratively with Directors, Senior Solicitors and other members of the team
- Support the continued growth and development of the Dispute Resolution department
- Qualified Solicitor with experience in dispute resolution, civil litigation or commercial litigation
- Strong understanding of litigation procedure and court deadlines
- Excellent drafting, analytical and communication skills
- Ability to manage a varied caseload with attention to detail
- Strong client care skills and a commercially aware approach
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing deadlines
- Experience of professional negligence, contractual disputes, property disputes, debt recovery, shareholder disputes or group litigation would be advantageous
