The Role: The Sports Editor will oversee and be actively involved in the creation and production of the sports sections of the County Down Spectator and Newtownards Chronicle. Day to day duties will include: developing story/content ideas considering audience appeal, feature work, copy handling, potentially assigning events and stories to individual reporters/photographers for coverage, active involvement in design and layout of the paper in conjunction with our design team, proofreading and editing duties, in addition to personal judgements on issues around copyright and libel law. A vision and an agenda to help the publications achieve their Ultra Local goals, by focusing on connecting with the communities that they serve would be ideal.
