We’re looking for a Senior Finance Business Partner on a 12-month FTC to join our Commercial Finance team supporting our Clinical Services and Resourcing functions within Optics. This role offers a unique opportunity to sit at the intersection of patient safety, clinical advancement and workforce capability, helping the business make well‑judged decisions that balance quality, sustainability and growth.
You’ll take financial ownership of the annual plans, forecasts and long‑term strategic initiatives across both functions, working closely with the Director of Clinical Services, Director of Resourcing and their leadership teams. In Clinical Services, your focus will include evaluating new and evolving clinical services, technology investments and delivery models, ensuring that each initiative is supported by robust financial analysis and a clear understanding of cost, risk and return.
You’ll play a key role in shaping business cases presented to governance forums, bringing clarity and challenge while maintaining a balanced group and store perspective. Alongside this, you will strengthen financial partnering within the Resourcing function, supporting decision making across the recruitment of ophthalmic professionals, clinical colleagues, retail assistants and apprentices.
By developing a deeper understanding of performance drivers and future demand, you’ll help ensure the function is well positioned to support our stores and our long‑term clinical ambitions. Month‑end insight, forward‑looking forecasts and meaningful narrative will all be central to how you help budget holders understand where performance is heading, not just where it has been.
This role also offers the chance to lead, coach and develop two finance colleagues, setting the standard for high‑quality business partnering and creating an environment where people feel supported to grow their careers. As part of the wider Commercial Finance team, you’ll contribute to cross‑functional projects and ad hoc initiatives as business priorities evolve, ensuring finance continues to be seen as a proactive and trusted partner.
If you’re a qualified accountant with strong commercial experience and a genuine interest in how finance supports operational excellence, this role offers both challenge and reward. You’ll suit this position if you are curious, forward‑looking and comfortable working with complexity, able to translate detailed financial analysis into clear, practical insight for senior, non‑finance audiences.
In return, you’ll find a role with real purpose, strong visibility and the opportunity to influence decisions that matter, all within a collaborative culture where professionalism, warmth and shared success go hand in hand.
This role closes 1st February 2026; however, we may close the advert sooner if we get inundated with high‑quality applications. Apply now – you’ll be pleased that you did.
