At Specsavers, our Retail Partners sit at the heart of everything we do, and when workplace challenges arise, thoughtful, balanced support really matters. We’re looking for an experienced ER Consultant to take the lead on employee relations complaints and grievances, supporting our people during employment and beyond, with empathy, clarity and commercial judgement.

In this role, you’ll work closely with a wide network of internal and external stakeholders to encourage early, informal resolution wherever possible. When situations require a more formal approach, you’ll confidently manage complex HR and legal processes, including the negotiation of COT3 and Settlement Agreements with ACAS and legal representatives, always aiming to resolve matters without the need for tribunal litigation.

You’ll be a trusted neutral voice, using mediation, conciliation and conflict resolution skills to bring differing perspectives together. By explaining processes clearly, setting expectations and facilitating constructive conversations, you’ll help all parties explore practical solutions and agree fair outcomes that reflect Specsavers’ values and priorities.

Alongside case management, you’ll design, draft and deliver engaging, bespoke training that equips Partners and managers with the confidence, skills and knowledge to manage employee relations consistently and proactively across their stores. You’ll need expertise in UK employment law and HR best practice, paired with strong judgement and an analytical mindset.

You’ll capture meaningful data, produce clear reports and monitor outcomes to continually improve our approach. Comfortable working autonomously in a multi-site environment, you’ll take ownership, build strong relationships and know when to elevate—always focused on fair, timely and sustainable resolution.

Above all, you’ll combine curiosity, integrity and resilience, bringing calm expertise to complex situations while helping Partners feel supported, informed and confident.
