We're modernising how our UK & ROI businesses use data, upgrading our MI Portal, shifting reporting into Power BI and transforming how insights reach our partners and support office teams. To help drive this exciting change, we're looking for someone to lead both our MI and MI Portal teams and guide them through this next chapter.

Your focus will be on steering the MI & MI Portal teams, not being the one doing all the technical work yourself. You'll manage workflows, allocate resources effectively and make sure the teams are operating at their best. You'll also act as the key point of escalation, knowing exactly who to turn to when issues arise and ensuring challenges are resolved quickly and confidently.

At the same time, you'll oversee the smooth delivery of our existing reporting suite, support the move into Power BI, and play a visible role in our projects by showcasing new tools, attending forums, and helping colleagues understand what's changing. You'll keep reporting accurate and on time, communicate clearly with stakeholders across Retail, Technology, Finance and more, and build strong relationships to keep projects moving.

You'll manage the development pipeline, review proposed changes, champion continuous improvement and help shape the future of reporting at Specsavers. Technical knowledge in areas like Power BI, SQL, Databricks or PHP is helpful, but it doesn't need to be expert-level. What matters most is your ability to lead people, navigate complexity, make good decisions, and keep the team working in the right direction.

You'll be a confident leader who can communicate brilliantly, organise well and build strong relationships at all levels. You understand what stakeholders need from reporting, can challenge and guide effectively, and feel comfortable owning escalations and delivery. Experience with Power BI, Power Query or Excel will serve you well, alongside strong problem-solving skills. Exposure to project management or software development is a bonus.

This is your chance to lead the team at the heart of our reporting transformation & supporting projects, helping colleagues transition to Power BI, and shaping the MI systems that thousands across Specsavers rely on every day.

This role closes 18th June 2026; however, we may close the advert sooner if we get inundated with high-quality applications.
