Location: Hempstead Valley, Kent

Salary: Up to £31,000 per annum depending on experience + performance related bonus

Working hours: Full time, 4-day working week with alternate weekends (36.25 hours)

Experience level: This role is open to both newly qualified and experienced Dispensing Opticians who are registered with the GOC. Opening in May 2023, Specsavers in Hempstead Valley has become one of the leading opticians in the area and we are looking for a driven Dispensing Optician to join them on a full-time basis. The focus at this store is about pulling together and working as a team to ensure that our valued patients have an excellent experience.

What We’re Looking For: Alongside being a qualified and GOC registered Dispensing Optician, we are searching for someone who shares our store’s ethos. Someone who wants to grow, develop, and offer exceptional customer care. We want a practitioner who prides themselves on clinical judgment, is hands-on, and is keen to build rapport with the team. We are seeking a skilled Dispensing Optician to join us and help drive the practice forward. We value staff development and place it at the center of our culture.

Responsibilities

• Dispensing Opticians are the face of the clinic on the shop floor and often part of the store management team.
• Work with ILM courses, pre-reg supervision, and opportunities to own your own Specsavers business; store directors provide guidance toward leadership roles.
• Support 3 sister stores (Chatham, Gillingham and Strood) and collaborate with a group of directors for professional and clinical development.
• Contribute to delivering high-quality patient care and excellent customer experience.
• Engage with the latest clinical technology and equipment available in the state-of-the-art practice.

About the Store

Hempstead Valley has 3 sister stores and is part of a group with strong professional and clinical support. The store operates a modern, bright, and new facility with 9 test rooms over 2 floors and runs 5 optical clinics per day, including daily Enhanced Optical Services (EOS), plus 4 audiology and 4 contact lens clinics per week.
