Are you a Data Business Analyst who loves getting hands on with data, using SQL to understand what's really happening beneath the surface?
At Specsavers, we're looking for a Data Business Analyst with strong SQL and data analysis skills to join our Data team.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex data initiatives where you'll combine traditional Business Analysis with hands on technical analysis to help shape how data is sourced, understood, transformed, and delivered across the organisation.
This isn't a role where you'll simply gather requirements and hand them over to a technical team.
You'll get directly into the source data, using SQL to query and profile datasets, understand tables, keys, joins and relationships, identify data quality issues, and trace how data moves from source systems through ingestion and transformation into downstream data products, reporting and analytics.
You'll need to be genuinely comfortable interrogating complex datasets and using your findings to influence the solution.
Working closely with Data Product Managers, Data Modellers, Data Architects and Data Engineers, you'll translate that analysis into clear data requirements and development-ready user stories.
You'll help define how source data should be mapped and transformed into our enterprise data models, while making sure requirements are technically sound, scalable and understood by everyone involved.
You'll thrive here if you bring strong, hands on SQL skills alongside solid Data Business Analysis experience.
You'll be confident analysing source systems and database schemas, reading and interpreting conceptual, logical and physical data models, and understanding SQL and Python code well enough to follow how data is being transformed through pipelines.
You'll also bring knowledge across areas such as Data Management, Data Migration, Data Quality, Data Governance and Data Architecture.
We're looking for someone who can bridge the gap between business requirements and complex data.
You'll need experience working on data-centric initiatives or large-scale transformation programmes, ideally involving areas such as data migration, MDM, reporting and analytics or enterprise data modelling, alongside experience working within Agile delivery teams.
If you're a Data BA who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, writing SQL, interrogating source data and turning what you discover into clear requirements and scalable data solutions, we'd love to hear from you.
Join Specsavers and help us build the data foundations behind some of our most important transformation initiatives.
