As a Home Visits Trainee Optical Assistant, you’ll ensure the delivery of a high-quality professional service to patients in their own homes and in some care home settings. You must have high standards of customer care; in short, you will make sure every customer has a great experience with us. Full training and support will be offered.

You’ll be driving our services to the doorsteps of the nation, providing eye care to the people who are unable to come into our stores. Not only do you help them with their sight, you’ll also be bringing smiles and clinical care to the heart of your community.

Once fully trained, you’ll be providing care to vulnerable patients in their own homes across our territory in Aberdeen, Thurso, Wick and the Isle of Skye, so our ideal candidate will be based in Aberdeen. Please note that there will be overnight stays away from home required in this role.

We have a wonderful existing team of dedicated people from optical and administrative backgrounds, who are ready and waiting for you to meet them.

You’ll be provided with a pool car.

  • Full-time – Monday to Friday 9am-5.30pm (flexibility required)

What we’re looking for?

If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as a Home Visits Trainee Optical Assistant. These include:

  • Current or recent experience in a fast-paced customer facing environment
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and be a confident driver

This role is deemed to be regulated activity under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced DBS and barring list check will be required prior to commencement of the role and repeated every 3 years.

  • Current or recent experience in optics and able to confidently dispense at all levels, measure and fit
  • Be confident using new systems as well as tablet and/or laptop
