As a Home Visits Optical Assistant, you’ll ensure the delivery of a high quality professional service to patients in their own homes and in some care home settings. You must have high standards of dispensing and customer care; in short, you will make sure every customer has a great experience with us. If you are looking for a change from the high street and want more diversity and freedom in your working day, then this role could be perfect for you. It will allow you the opportunity to put your skills to the test and make a real difference to the quality of a person’s life and to help and support your local community.
You’ll be providing care to vulnerable patients in their own homes across our territory in Aberdeen, Thurso, Wick and the Isle of Skye, so our ideal candidate will be based in Aberdeen. Please note that there will be overnight stays away from home required in this role.
We have a wonderful existing team of dedicated people from optical and administrative backgrounds, who are ready and waiting for you to meet them.
You’ll be provided with a pool car.

If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as a Home Visits Optical Assistant. These include:
- Current or recent previous optical experience (at least 6 months' - 1 year), and you must be able to confidently dispense at all levels, measure and fit
- Must hold a full UK driving licence and be a confident driver
This role is deemed to be regulated activity under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. An enhanced DBS and barring list check will be required prior to commencement of the role and repeated every 3 years.
