This is a unique opportunity for a senior advertising suit (be that a Business Director, Group Account Director or Business Lead) with strong strategic skills (or perhaps a Strategic Lead with good management skills) to relocate to beautiful and creative New Zealand to lead an in-house agency at a fast growing, entrepreneurial company who have a group of businesses in property development, capital & finance and entrepreneurial ventures.

You would be developing strategy and delivering creative work for each of their brands whilst leading and growing the in-house team (currently 10). You would be required to relocate within the next 2 to 3 months though so those with long notice periods may not be suitable.

This company, based in the stunning South Island of New Zealand, has a diversified group of businesses and a central marketing team / in-house agency who work with multiple companies across the Group to drive growth, build brands, generate leads, and deliver commercial results. They are seeking a commercially sharp, senior marketing leader to take ownership of Group-wide marketing performance. This is more than a traditional brand role. You’ll lead an internal agency-style function servicing multiple business units, each with different customers, growth goals, and go-to-market needs. You’ll balance strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, ensuring the right mix of brand, digital, customer acquisition, communications, and team capability across the portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Group Marketing Leadership – develop the overarching group marketing strategy, including plans, targets and brand positionings for each subsidiary.
  • Internal Agency Leadership – run a high-performing, fast-moving central marketing function with strong internal relationships and clear processes.
  • Brand & Communications – build and evolve the group brand architecture across all companies, leading external PR and media as well as overseeing content strategy, storytelling and corporate messaging.
  • Digital & Performance Marketing – lead digital strategy, drive data-led marketing and oversee design and optimisation, ensuring commercial outcomes are achieved.
  • Customer Experience & Lifecycle Management – lead group-wide customer experience, continually improving end-to-end customer outcomes.
  • Team Leadership – develop, mentor and continue to grow a marketing team across creative, digital, content, operations and analytics.
  • Risk, Compliance & Governance – ensure all marketing activity meets legal, regulatory, ethical and internal policy requirements.
  • Stakeholder Management - work closely with both Group leadership and individual business unit heads to align marketing activities and report to the board on brand performance and marketing ROI.
