The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of multiple international entities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant looking to build a career within the insurance and reinsurance sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end close activities, including general ledger and trial balance reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reporting across multiple international jurisdictions.
  • Process and review technical insurance and reinsurance accounting journal entries.
  • Prepare statutory accounts in accordance with UK GAAP and local reporting requirements.
  • Produce regulatory returns and support compliance with local regulatory obligations.
  • Assist with direct and indirect tax filings and payment obligations.
  • Prepare premium, claims, and commission bordereaux for capacity providers.
  • Support external audits, including preparation of lead schedules and resolution of audit queries.
  • Produce management information and financial analysis to support underwriting and strategic business decisions.
  • Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Newly qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant.
  • Experience within the non-life insurance or reinsurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, IAS, and insurance accounting principles.
  • Ability to interpret re/insurance contracts and translate contract terms into accounting entries.
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts, regulatory returns, and tax filings.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulae, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Newly qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant.
  • Experience within the non-life insurance or reinsurance sector.
  • Strong understanding of UK GAAP, IFRS, IAS, and insurance accounting principles.
  • Ability to interpret re/insurance contracts and translate contract terms into accounting entries.
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts, regulatory returns, and tax filings.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulae, pivot tables, and data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in finance process improvement and automation.
  • Experience working with large volumes of financial data.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify anomalies.
  • Experience supporting finance transformation initiatives or system migrations.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with underwriting, claims, and operational teams.
  • Strong Microsoft Word and Power Point skills.
