The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Position is an individual contributor focused on supporting the electronic machine controls for new product development in welding machines and portable machine tools. The qualified person shall understand product requirements and be capable of designing, testing, and validating a solution with the product development team members that provide value to the end user application.
The person shall be able to work in a cross functional product development team to ensure all product features and functionalities are defined, designed, documented, and validated in meeting customer/market requirements with a focus on schedule as well as meeting project budgets. The person shall have skills in embedded system design as shown below:
Primary Responsibilities- System Development and Design Responsibilities: Responsible for the development and implementation of embedded software from concept to final execution with a focus on product requirements.
- Product Management Responsibilities: Responsible for the evolution of the product over its life cycle by developing new software releases dealing with customer issues and product performance enhancements.
- Life Cycle Engineering: Search out replacement components due to the obsolescence of the original components.
- Product Development Responsibilities: Provide electrical and electronics design for new products. Work with other departments in new product development from start to finish. Develop modular design with a focus on future state enhancements/capabilities with an understanding of end user/market needs.
- Customer Service Responsibilities: Work with customers to troubleshoot and resolve product field performance issues, including but not limited to all electrical or controls-related issues. Develop custom product solutions with existing embedded system designs with a focus on meeting customer requirements.
- BSEE degree or equivalent degree in Math/Sciences with extensive proficiency in software engineering. MSEE preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in software design/programming in a manufacturing environment.
- Three to five years of experience in digital and analog circuitry design.
- Familiar with working in a project-oriented environment capable of taking a project from concept to finished product as directed.
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Detail oriented with a focus on meeting deliverables.
- Project management experience with an understanding of critical path deliverables.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
