We are seeking a driven Business Development Manager to expand sales of Climax Portable Machine Tools across Europe. This is a predominantly external, field-based position with a strong focus on business development, market expansion, and the establishment of a robust regional distributor network.

The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time travelling within the territory, meeting potential partners, developing distributor relationships, supporting channel partners, and identifying new market opportunities across key industrial sectors. This role requires a highly proactive individual capable of building markets from the ground up, establishing new sales channels, and developing long-term partnerships with distributors and key industrial customers.

Key Responsibilities – Business Development & Market Expansion

  • Identify and develop new market opportunities throughout Europe.
  • Lead efforts to build and expand a regional distributor and partner network.
  • Identify potential distribution partners, service providers, and strategic alliances within the territory.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify growth sectors and industrial opportunities.

Distributor Development

  • Recruit, evaluate, and onboard new distributors and sales partners.
  • Provide training, technical support, and commercial guidance to distributor partners.
  • Work closely with distributors to develop joint sales strategies and growth plans.
  • Monitor distributor performance and support them in achieving regional sales targets.

Field Sales Activity

  • Conduct regular in-person visits to distributors and end users throughout the region.
  • Support distributors with customer meetings, product demonstrations, and technical presentations.
  • Represent the company at trade exhibitions, industry events, and customer demonstrations.

Strategic Account Development

  • Develop relationships with key industrial accounts across the region.
  • Identify opportunities for direct equipment sales and strategic partnerships.
  • Support distributors in securing major capital equipment projects.

Sales Management

  • Prepare and deliver commercial proposals and quotations.
  • Maintain a robust sales pipeline and accurate territory forecasting.
  • Provide regular reporting on market activity, distributor performance, and sales progress.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with internal sales teams, technical specialists, and product support teams.
  • Provide feedback on regional market trends, competitive activity, and customer requirements.

Key Requirements – Experience

  • Proven experience in external sales, business development, or channel development within industrial equipment, machinery, or engineering sectors.
  • Experience in developing distributor networks or managing channel partners is highly desirable.
  • Experience working within multiple European markets is strongly preferred.
