Join STS Group as our next Project HSE Manager in the UK! We are looking for an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental professional to join our Data Centre project in Slough. STS Group is fully committed to the highest Health, Safety and Environmental practices. This leadership role is critical for our business.
The Opportunity
As our next HSE Manager, you'll play a vital role in ensuring everyone goes home safe at the end of each day. You'll work closely with the site management teams to ensure a positive and well-informed HSE culture flourishes. Key to this role will be identifying all HSE risks and ensuring the best prevention and mitigation controls are in place.
What You’ll Do
- Leading: Lead the onsite HSE team members. Focusing on building a proactive safety culture where safety is a shared value rather than just a set of rules.
- The Expert: Conducting regular site audits and assessments, following up on corrective actions and being the go-to for all things Health, Safety, and Environmental.
- Sharing and Reporting: Development of project-specific HSE documents in conjunction with the project management team (HSE Plans, RAMS, Aspects & Impacts Register etc).
- Meeting the Highest Standards: Ensuring our sites are compliant with all relevant HSE legislation, and adherent to our HSEQ Management systems (ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001).
- Team Collaboration: Proactively work with site management teams, subcontractors, and clients to promote the project's EHS requirements.
- Promoting STS Mission Zero: Making sure company inductions, site orientations and training are delivered in a timely manner. Promote the SOR programme and recognise and reward programme.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years’ HSE leadership experience in a construction environment, ideally on data centre projects.
- Relevant third-level qualification and training in Environmental, Health & Safety.
- Thorough knowledge of current HSE-related legislation & regulations.
- Ability to efficiently manage all HSE issues on your projects.
- Excellent IT skills; you pick up new systems with ease.
- A self-starter and capable of working on your own initiative.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- High Proficiency in the English language (written & spoken).
Desirable but not Essential
- Prior experience in data centre projects.
- Work experience in the UK.
- Completed instructor training courses (e.g: working at heights, manual handling or abrasive wheels).
