Specialist Sports Group is a well-established and expanding sporting goods agency offering Sales, Marketing, Distribution, and Creative solutions to performance sports brands including world leading brand adidas. Specialist Sports is based on the western edge of Southampton, England.
Specialist Sports have distribution responsibility for multiple product categories across the UK, Ireland, Europe and several other territories around the world. The category portfolio includes Rugby, Hockey, Cricket, Netball, Tennis, Track & Field, Golf, Olympic Sports and Golf featuring a range of products used by many of the world’s best athletes and grassroots enthusiasts. Specialist Sports are custodians of the adidas brand in many of these categories and hold Sports Marketing contracts with relevant Governing Bodies, leading clubs, and athletes.
Alongside distribution rights, the Group holds the global license to manufacture adidas apparel, accessories, and hardgoods categories including Rugby, Hockey and Cricket in support of the wider commercial strategy.
Specialist Sports are committed to growing its capabilities as an authentic route to market and solution provider for an expanding roster of brands and categories and seek a committed, enthusiastic and capable Category Executive to deliver market leading commercial performance in our Golf category.
THE ROLE
The successful candidate will be responsible for fulfilment of Specialist Sports obligations to wholesale trade accounts and other sales and marketing partners in Golf.. The role will demand:
•Management of key Golf customers, maximising commercial revenue from all channels
•Grow Golf category through new and existing customers, pro-active approach to develop existing and new business
•Input to category management to accurately forecast and control Golf inventory
•Management of Golf clubs through Specialist Sports personalised club shop portal ensuring accurate set up and fulfilment in line with agreed service levels
• Collaborate with embellishment partners ensuring accurate fulfilment of club/portal orders
•Manage and deliver marketing calendars, campaigns and content execution
•Manage Golf database of customers across different channels to achieve support commercial goals
•Create appropriate sell in tools for Golf category sales team and customers and ensure Specialist Sports websites are maintained with correct product images, product information and any associated resources
•Work with Category Director and golf brands on physical and digital assets needed to aid sell in and sell through
• Other ad-hoc duties as delegated from time to time by the Sales and Marketing Director or any other person designated in their absence
ABOUT YOU
2-3 years of commercial/marketing experience
Strong communication and presentation skills
Proven track record of leading successful integrated marketing campaigns
Creative thinker with results driven mindset
Expertise in account coordination and marketing execution
Experience in the golf industry is beneficial
Ability to work autonomously
