We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our primary school team, working within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The role involves supporting children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, helping them to access learning, develop communication and social skills, and feel safe and supported within the school environment. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team to provide consistent, nurturing support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support individual pupils and small groups with SEND needs
  • Assist with learning activities, play‑based learning, and routines in EYFS
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Support communication, language, and social development
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCo, and support staff

Person Specification / Qualifications

  • Experience working with young children, ideally in EYFS
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND (desirable)
  • Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Relevant childcare or teaching assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)
