We are looking for a passionate Functional Skills Tutor to deliver engaging Maths and English sessions while supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve meaningful outcomes. In this role, you will be more than a teacher; you will act as a mentor and role model, helping learners develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed for further education, employment, and independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver High-Quality Teaching
- Deliver Functional Skills Maths and English (Entry Level 1 to Level 2)
- Plan engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to individual needs, including SEND
- Create a supportive learning environment that motivates and engages learners
- Support learners through assessments and exams
- Maintain high teaching standards in line with Ofsted expectations
- Occasionally support learners with transport where required
- Monitor and track learner progress, engagement, and attainment
- Use data to identify gaps and deliver targeted interventions
- Maintain accurate records, attendance, and assessment data
- Support learner transitions, referrals, and programme outcomes
- Contribute to the development of curriculum and learning materials
- Work closely with colleagues to support learner success
- Contribute to inclusive and differentiated teaching approaches
- Participate in CPD, team meetings, and performance reviews
- Promote a positive, collaborative, and supportive working culture
Additional Information
This role may include other duties appropriate to the level of responsibility. Priorities will be reviewed through performance management processes.
