Registered Manager – Children’s Home
Full Job Description
We’re recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to lead a new solo-placement children’s home in Paignton, Torbay, supporting one young person with complex needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to take a home through Ofsted registration from the outset, build your own team and establish a strong, trauma-informed and relationship-led care environment.
The Role
- Lead the home through Ofsted registration
- Take responsibility as the Registered Manager
- Recruit, lead and develop the staff team
- Oversee the care, safety and development of one young person
- Establish care planning, risk assessment and quality assurance systems
- Work closely with social workers, commissioners, education and health professionals
- Manage the day-to-day running, rota and budget
- Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspection
We’re Looking For
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent/in progress)
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager, Deputy Manager or in a senior children’s residential care role
- Strong knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted
Requirements
- Excellent safeguarding and leadership skills
- Experience managing and developing staff teams
- Full UK driving licence
- Eligibility to register with Ofsted as a Registered Manager
Desirable: Experience taking a home through Ofsted registration, or working with solo placements / young people with complex needs.
