We are seeking an experienced and patient SEND Tutor to work with a secondary-aged learner on a part-time basis. The role involves delivering personalised tuition in a supportive, low-pressure environment, tailored to the learner’s individual needs and abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 4.5 hours of tuition across Monday and Tuesday
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons appropriate to a secondary curriculum
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet SEND needs
- Build a positive, trusting relationship with the learner
- Support academic progress, confidence, and engagement with learning
- Monitor progress and adjust sessions as needed
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers and relevant professionals where appropriate
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with secondary-aged learners
- Experience supporting students with SEND
- Ability to deliver 1:1 tuition
- Calm, flexible, and empathetic teaching approach
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
Desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching/tutoring qualification
- Experience working with learners who are out of school / EOTAS
- Familiarity with EHCPs or personalised learning plans
