Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Sales Development Representative / SDR Team Lead to join our growing sales and lead generation function. This is a hands-on, new business-focused role with additional responsibility for supporting the day-to-day activity, structure and performance of the SDR team. You will still be responsible for your own prospecting, outbound engagement, discovery, qualification and opportunity creation, while also helping to guide and support two SDRs in their daily activity. The role reports into the Head of Marketing and Lead Generation, who will retain responsibility for overall team management, strategy, reporting, formal 1-2-1s and performance reviews. You will act as the day-to-day lead for the SDR team, helping to keep activity focused, campaigns moving and opportunities progressing. This role is ideal for someone with proven SDR, BDR or lead generation experience in IT managed services, networking, cyber security, telecoms, MSP, reseller or vendor environments, who is ready to take the next step into a team lead role while remaining close to frontline sales development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business Development and Pipeline Creation: You will build and work target account and ideal customer profile lists, using phone, email and LinkedIn outreach to generate new business conversations. You will personalise outreach, maintain consistent outbound activity, collaborate with Marketing and vendor partners, support campaigns and events, and follow up effectively with prospects. You will be expected to lead by example through your own outbound activity and opportunity creation. You will support the day-to-day running of the SDR team, helping to ensure activity is structured, focused and aligned to current campaigns and business priorities.
  • Lead Management and Qualification: You will respond to inbound leads within agreed timeframes, run initial discovery, qualify opportunities using agreed qualification standards, create opportunities in the CRM and nurture longer-term prospects in collaboration with Marketing. You will also support the SDR team in applying consistent qualification standards and ensuring opportunities are properly prepared before handover.
  • Meeting Setting and Opportunity Handover: You will book qualified meetings for Account Executives, prepare briefing notes, progress suitable leads to Sales Qualified Opportunity stage, and ensure a smooth handover to the wider sales team. You will also help SDRs prepare strong meeting briefs, improve meeting quality and increase acceptance rates from Account Executives.
  • Additional Responsibilities: You will also be responsible for weekly forecasting of your own meetings and opportunities, supporting SDR team forecasting and activity visibility, maintaining accurate and up-to-date CRM records, helping the SDR team maintain CRM hygiene and follow-up discipline, curating and maintaining personal prospect lists, supporting sales and client activity processes, following internal approval processes and deal desk policies, participating in sales activity days, vendor sessions and team meetings, collaborating with vendor sales and marketing teams on joint campaigns, and sharing best practice across the SDR team.

Targets and Expectations

This is a target-driven role with clear monthly goals and a strong focus on quality pipeline creation. You will be expected to consistently generate new business conversations, book qualified first meetings, and progress suitable opportunities through to Account Executive handover. As a senior member of the team, you will also help drive consistency, quality and focus across SDR activity. Key expectations include:

  • Generating accepted first meetings each month
  • Creating Sales Qualified Opportunities each month
  • Contributing to new business pipeline growth
  • Supporting the SDR team in achieving their activity and meeting targets
  • Maintaining consistent, high-quality outbound activity across phone, email and LinkedIn
  • Helping improve meeting quality, handover notes and AE acceptance rates
  • Responding to inbound leads in a timely and professional manner
  • Keeping CRM records accurate, up to date and actionable

You will be supported with campaign activity, vendor collaboration, sales tools, marketing content and ongoing coaching.

Required Experience and Skills

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience in an SDR, BDR, lead generation or business development role
  • Experience within IT managed services, solutions, networking, cyber security, telecoms, MSP, reseller or vendor environments
  • A strong track record of new business prospecting and opportunity creation
  • Evidence of over-performance against targets or KPIs
  • A preference for phone-based lead generation
  • Experience carrying out high-volume, high-quality outbound activity
  • The ability to run discovery and qualify opportunities through to Account Executive handover
  • Experience supporting, mentoring or guiding other SDRs, BDRs or junior sales colleagues
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience using a CRM system such as Microsoft Dynamics or Salesforce
  • Experience using sales engagement tools such as Salesloft, or similar

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a highly competitive base salary, OTE with accelerators, pension, holidays, company equipment, standard company benefits, and expenses reimbursed in line with company policy.

Working Pattern

This is an office-based role in Warrington. Standard working hours are 8:30am–5:30pm, Monday to Friday.

Additional Information

The role is subject to a 6-month probation period. Notice periods, confidentiality, intellectual property obligations and post-contract restrictions will be detailed in the employment contract. The successful candidate will be provided with a company laptop and will be required to complete mandatory training, including Information Security, Data Protection, Anti-Bribery and Sales Governance.
