We are seeking a dedicated Computer Repair and Refurbishment Technician to join our team in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, supporting IT refurbishment operations and ensuring high-quality standards are met. This role operates on a 2pm-10pm shift pattern, offering a consistent afternoon-to-evening schedule.
Your responsibilities as the Computer Repair and Refurbishment Technician:
- Diagnose faults in laptops and desktop computers using diagnostic tools
- Repair, replace or upgrade hardware components
- Update BIOS/firmware and reload operating systems
- Retest equipment to ensure functionality and refurbishment standards
- Inspect and refurbish devices cosmetically
- Clean and prepare devices including removal of labels and residue
- Apply vinyl coverings and cosmetic enhancements
- Conduct quality control and grading of equipment
- Complete data entry on SCC systems
- Ensure all equipment is data safe
- Meet SLA/OLA targets with attention to detail
- Achieve productivity KPIs while maintaining quality
- Follow all training, policies, and procedures
