We are looking for an experienced Service Designer to support high-profile transformation work, ensuring services are in line with technology development, compliance, and assurance data-use standards. You will help establish new ways of working, mentor junior designers, and ensure services meet user needs without compromising public trust. Active DV and NPPV3 clearance are required.
Your responsibilities as the Service Designer:
- Work with the Service Design Lead to direct design activity across major programme work
- Mentor Service Designers, Junior Designers, and the Service Acceptance Analyst
- Ensure design work follows a clear, user-centred approach aligned to programme value
- Document design decisions and risks concisely
- Enable strong communication between users, project teams, service delivery, and operations
- Champion ITIL 4, Agile, and Continual Service Improvement
- Collaborate with Service Transition to ensure smooth service introduction
As a successful Service Designer, you will have:
- Active DV and NPPV3 clearance
- Strong background designing services that meet user needs
- Knowledge of Service Design methods and related disciplines (UX, user research, interaction design)
- Experience using data and user feedback to improve services
- Proven ability to turn designs into functioning services
- Experience mentoring or guiding colleagues
- Hands-on experience in Agile and working knowledge of ITIL 4
- Understanding of IT hardware layers and deployment models
- Ability to prioritise, make sound decisions, and work under pressure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
