Community Care Assistant at Specialist Care Team - Flexible Full time and Part time staff wanted! We have been given an exciting opportunity to expand into the South Lancaster area including Galgate and the surrounding areas. Come and join us on this journey!
Weekend rates are paid at Β£13 per hour. Evening shifts between 7pm - 11pm are paid at Β£15 per hour. Any hours that fall Monday-Friday 7am-7pm are paid at our normal rate of Β£12.60 per hour.
Help spread smiles around the area to people who need your help. Our team of community Care Assistants make a difference for those who want to live independently. No previous experience is required, just the right values and passion to do good.
As a member of our community team, you'll make a difference for the people you support by enabling them to live happy lives, while promoting their independence. You will assist people with daily living, from personal care to meeting with friends and family, accessing the local community, budgeting, medications and daily household tasks.
Here's some of the highlights of working at Specialist Care Team:
- We pay more β We believe in paying a fair price for an outstanding job from our team members. Our rates start at Β£12.60 per hour for our community drivers, and they increase if you take on extra responsibilities. Our rates have recently been updated so we now pay more for evenings after 7pm at Β£15 per hour and weekends at Β£13 per hour.
- Flexible working β Whether you have regular driving lessons, play badminton on a Thursday night or need to look after a family member, we understand you may have commitments elsewhere and will always aim to have a flexible approach to your availability. For our full time colleagues we also offer a protected regular day off in the week to allow you to plan things.
- Guaranteed contract hours β We don't believe in offering 'zero hour' contracts as standard β all of our team members have a guaranteed number of hours each week, which can range anywhere from 8-40 hours depending on whether you want to work part- or full-time. All our shifts are full and have no rota gaps that you see in other care companies.
- Going the extra mile β If you need to travel between clients mileage is paid at 40p per mile when using your own vehicle.
- Investing in you β You need the best tools to carry out a high level of care, and that's why you'll be fully-trained by our in-house team and members of our community team are given a work mobile phone so you can perform to the best of your ability.

What we need from you: Everyone working in social care needs a good standard of English, as well as numeracy and digital skills. You will need to enjoy working in a team and you need to be good at problem solving. Additional skills required to join our team include:
