Overview
Receptionist/Administrator
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday (full time)
Contract: Fixed-term – 12 months (3-month probation period)
Salary and Benefits: £26,000 – £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, health cashback plan and EAP

Known as The Gamers’ Charity, the games industry and gaming communities are at the heart of both our work and those who make that work possible – our invaluable supporters.
The Receptionist/Administrator plays a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of SpecialEffect by providing a welcoming and professional first point of contact for visitors, beneficiaries, donors, and staff.
This dual role combines front-desk reception duties with responsibility for supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the office through a range of administrative tasks across the organisation. What you’ll be doing: The successful candidate will join our busy Operations team providing key support to all areas of the Charity.
Responsibilities
- Serving as the first point of contact for the Charity. Answering and directing calls and enquiries and welcoming visitors.
- Maintaining a professional and warm manner handling inbound and outbound post and couriers maintaining office supplies assisting with accurate database entry and record-keeping.
- Charity vehicle maintenance including organising MOTs and servicing.
- Managing the vehicle booking system and ensuring vehicles are ready for use each day.
- Supporting with duties relating to health and safety and fire safety.
- Supporting various departments with administrative duties.
