Special Steels Ltd (SSL) are a market leader within the heat treatment industry. As a result of an increased workload we are looking for a Maintenance Engineer/ Supervisor to join our successful business. The role will be predominantly shop floor based, organising scheduled maintenance and dealing with day-to-day breakdowns and emergencies as they occur. There will be a need for some desk work, so the candidate must be computer literate in Excel and Word.

  • Supervising a small team and reporting directly to the Operations Director.
  • Performing planned maintenance, fixing faults and responding to emergency breakdown in and outside working hours.
  • Organising and working with subcontractors.
  • Responsible for the creation of permit to works and carrying out contractor inductions.
  • Responsible for ensuring repairs are carried out in a timely manner with minimal disruption to production.
  • Ensuring equipment and spares are at a suitable level and that those levels are maintained both physically and updated systematically.
  • Responsible for the Health & Safety of the team and works they are carrying out.

Skills Required

Position is days only Monday to Friday - hours and times to be confirmed. Our plans for the future are exciting and challenging and we offer a competitive remuneration package to the right person.
