We are seeking an Experienced Optical Assistant or Dispensing Optician to join our professional team. This role involves supporting optometrists with patient care, assisting in optical procedures, and dispensing of optical appliances. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in eye health and visual aids, with opportunities for professional development within a small independent practice. We are looking for a candidate with lots of personality, who is able to adapt to a changing environment, and deliver exceptional customer service to our patients.

Responsibilities
- Assisting patients with frame selection and fitting, ensuring comfort and suitability.
- Supporting optometrists during eye examinations by handling necessary tools and materials, as well as triaging patients.
- Conducting preliminary tests such as tonometry, OCT scans and Topography under supervision.
- Managing patient records accurately and efficiently.
- Providing information on optical products, lenses, and eye care routines.
- Ensuring the cleanliness and organisation of dispensing areas and consultation areas.
- Supporting administrative tasks including appointment scheduling and stock management.
Experience
- Prior experience working within the optical industry is essential, particularly in dispensing glasses.
- Any other experience delivering high quality customer service is desirable.
- A proactive attitude with strong organisational skills and attention to detail is essential for success in this role.
- Dispensing optician qualification is desirable but not essential.
- An interest in social media and marketing would be desirable, but not essential.
