We’re looking for a skilled Level 2 Field Service Engineer to join our dynamic Service Department, covering Aberdeenshire, surrounding regions and Northern Isles with UK-wide travel as needed.

The Role

As a Level 2 Field Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, repair, and installation of patient moving and handling equipment, including hoists, baths, beds, and more. This is a field-based role, meaning you’ll be on the road—visiting sites, surveying, installing, and providing technical expertise to ensure vital equipment keeps running safely and effectively.

You’ll also play a crucial part in pre-installation planning and full commissioning of fixed installations such as ceiling track hoists and wall-mounted equipment.

Please note: This role includes participation in an on-call rota for emergency callouts. Additional compensation details for on-call duty will be discussed during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and LOLER testing.
  • Reactive breakdown response and fault diagnosis.
  • Repair, installation, and commissioning of fixed equipment.
  • Site and pre-installation surveys.
  • PDA-based reporting and client liaison.
  • Adherence to Health & Safety policies (both company and client-side).
  • Maintaining excellent personal and professional standards.
  • Participation in the on-call rota for emergency out-of-hours service.

What We’re Looking For

  • Mechanical/electrical background with fault-finding experience.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Good physical fitness – some manual handling is involved.
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight when required (with full expenses covered).
  • Experience with installation and basic building/construction understanding is a plus.

Salary & Benefits

  • Basic Salary: £34,350
  • Bonus scheme after 6 months post-probation.
  • 31 days holiday (including bank holidays and company closure days).
  • Company pension scheme.
  • Paid door-to-door working hours.
  • Overtime paid at time and a quarter.
  • Weekend work agreed in advance.
  • On-call participation is required.
  • Overnight allowance: £50 (taxable) + £30 meals allowance (tax-free).
  • All accommodation arranged and paid by the company.
