An exciting opportunity for a Part Qualified Auditor to join a growing Practice with offices across the North East. This role is available in either Newcastle or Durham. As an Audit Senior you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality audits for a diverse portfolio of clients. This role goes beyond compliance—it’s an opportunity to influence audit quality, mentor junior team members, and contribute to a forward-thinking, technology-driven audit function. You’ll collaborate with experienced colleagues and help shape how we deliver an exceptional client experience.

The Role

  • Lead and deliver statutory audits from planning through to completion, including leading and working within on-site audit teams where required.
  • Use digital audit tools and systems to drive efficiency, accuracy, and insight across engagement.
  • Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing clear communication and supporting them with audit-related queries.
  • Review work completed by junior team members and offer guidance, coaching and feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate closely with managers, senior managers and partners to ensure high-quality audit delivery.
  • Complete assignments in line with internal quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in departmental discussions, contributing ideas to enhance audit processes and team performance.
  • Attend client sites predominantly across the North-East and Yorkshire.

Person Specification

  • Working towards ACA or ACCA qualification with at least two years of audit experience.
  • Experience working with owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
  • Experience delivering or leading audits.
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, confident with clients across all formats.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong IT capability, including Excel and audit-related software.
  • Proactive problem-solver with the ability to use initiative.
  • Ability to travel to client sites as required.
  • Experience with software such as Sage, QuickBooks Online, and Xero.
  • Sector experience including charities, academies or legal practice.
  • Experience with Iris, Caseware or MyWorkPaper.
  • Leadership and Team Support – motivates others, delegates effectively and contributes to a positive team culture.
  • Communication – delivers clear, confident written and verbal communication tailored to the audience.
