Role Overview:
This is a senior teaching and academic role. You will be responsible for delivering lessons, conducting student onboarding assessments, and supporting the academic development of the platform. This role is teaching-focused, with additional light academic leadership responsibilities.
Core Responsibilities:
- Teaching Delivery: Deliver engaging online English lessons (1-to-1 and group classes), adapt teaching style based on age group and ability level, maintain high teaching standards aligned with SpeakBrit methodology.
- Student Assessments: Conduct onboarding / placement assessments for new students, evaluate English level and recommend appropriate class placement, provide structured academic feedback after assessments.
- Academic & Platform Support: Assist in interviewing and evaluating new teacher applicants as we expand, support maintenance of consistent teaching quality across the platform, flag academic concerns or student progress issues where necessary, support resolution of learning-related queries or feedback.
Important Information:
This is not a sales or marketing role. No student sourcing or promotion required. No cold calling or outreach activities. All students are provided directly by SpeakBrit. Your focus is purely on teaching, assessment, and academic quality.
Assessment Scheduling & Flexibility:
Assessments are scheduled based on student availability. Teachers can complete assessments during flexible working hours. As our main student base is in Asia, availability may include early mornings (UK time), evenings, and occasional weekends.
Candidate Profile:
We are looking for experienced British English educators who can maintain a high standard of teaching and student assessment. Ideal candidates will have:
- Native or near-native British English fluency
- Experience teaching English online or in classrooms
- Strong ability to assess learner levels accurately
- Confident, structured, and engaging teaching style
- Experience working with children or international learners
- TEFL / TESOL / CELTA (preferred but not essential)
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
