The SPCA helps protect over 30,000 animals every year. By rescuing, rehabilitating, sheltering and advocating for animals, we are directly improving their lives. Our Animal Services teams run our 28 Centres, from Kerikeri to Invercargill and they are essential in us being able to do the work we do.

Our Centres are working hard rescuing, caring for and rehoming animals in need. They are the face of the SPCA in their communities, working to create real and sustainable change for the wellbeing of animals. The Centres are run by a bunch of passionate people, from Centre Managers to Animal Attendants, who prioritise animal welfare and community connection.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for a Customer Service Coordinator to join our Animal Services team based in Mangere, Auckland. This role is permanent, part time working 24 hours per week. This role is on our rotating roster which runs Monday – Sunday, 7.00 am – 7.00 pm. In this role you get to see the best and the worst. It is a rewarding, fulfilling, and essential role, as well as demanding, heartbreaking and physical. It takes a special kind of person to do this role but what you get back can really fill your cup.
You will be the first point of contact for our customers, volunteers, foster parents, colleagues, stakeholders and community, for both the human and animal variety. You will answer queries face to face, over the phone and via email in a helpful, timely and professional manner. You will be the hub, the oracle, the person who knows the things at our Centre. We want our customers to know we are responsive, effective and provide accurate information and most importantly, that we care about them and their animals.
You will process animal adoptions including discussions with potential adopters to match the right animals with the right person. You will triage animal ambulance calls, schedule foster pick up and return appointments and induct our new foster parents. You will work with community stakeholders and veterinary partners, to provide a positive physical and visible presence representing the SPCA in local communities.
