SPAW Engineering is a dedicated supplier of precision parts to European Turbo Charger Manufacturers. Due to the continued expansion of our business and product range, this has led to the following vacancies arising.
CNC Machinist SETTER/OPERATOR FULL TIME
Permanent after standard probationary period. Operators wanted across all three of our current shifts. Full training given.
- Days: Mon-Thurs 8am-6pm £13.11ph - £15.81ph depending on experience
- Nights: Mon-Thurs 8pm-8am £16.18ph - £19.76ph depending on experience
- Weekends: Fri-Sun 8am-8pm £16.18ph - £19.76ph depending on experience
Setters must have previous experience with Fanuc controlled CNC Machining centres and/or lathes. They are required to swap multiple machines over from one job to the next using pre-approved programs while working to our customer-controlled standards. To do this they must be able to do the following:
- Change work holding jigs/jaws/fixtures.
- Change work shifts to suit new work holding/part length.
- Reference tool lengths.
- Carefully prove out pre-approved programs to avoid machine collisions.
- Make alterations needed to ensure the product is produced to customer specification within their tolerances by using our standard and bespoke gauges and measuring equipment.
- Problem solve machining issues.
- Involved in training lower skilled operators.
Rates of pay are dependent on skill and experience.
