Duties to include, but not limited to:
- Act as the deputy in the absence of the Head Chef and manage the kitchen
- Assist the Head Chef in organising, supervising, and controlling the kitchen operation, ensuring the team fulfil their duties to the hotel's standards
- Uphold the hotel's standards of appearance, cleanliness, and hygiene in the kitchen areas
- Manage and monitor all areas of the kitchen and the team
- Comply with legal requirements such as Food and Hygiene Regulations, Health and Safety at Work Act, and Fire Regulations
- Supervise and participate in the preparation, cooking, and portioning of food dishes
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and General Manager to conduct weekly kitchen audits
The person:
- Previous experience in a similar position
- NVQ 1 Food Hygiene certificate/training
- Flexible attitude to working hours and variable shift patterns
- Basic computer skills
- Creative and aware of trends in the catering business
- Excellent International culinary knowledge across various cuisine types
