As our business continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Operations Manager/Senior Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in our future.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical professional who enjoys both the technical and operational aspects of the industry.
The role combines office-based planning and management with regular site visits across our portfolio of projects.
Working closely with the Directors, you’ll help oversee the day-to-day operation of the business, support our engineering teams and ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day delivery of commercial mechanical projects and maintenance contracts.
- Plan labour, resources and project programmes.
- Provide technical support to engineers and apprentices.
- Carry out site surveys and attend client meetings.
- Manage installation, servicing, maintenance and reactive works.
- Monitor project progress, quality and profitability.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and industry standards.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and suppliers.
- Support quotation reviews, procurement and project planning.
- Assist with continuous improvement of operational systems and processes.
- Participate in emergency response and out-of-hours support where required.
About You
You’ll ideally have
- Extensive experience within commercial plumbing, heating and mechanical services.
- Strong knowledge of commercial heating, HVAC, plumbing and gas systems.
- Previous experience managing engineers, projects or operational teams.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A proactive approach with strong problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to work independently while leading and motivating others.
- Good IT skills and experience using digital job management systems.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications
- Commercial Gas ACS qualifications.
- OFTEC qualifications.
- Unvented Hot Water certification.
- F-Gas qualification.
- SMSTS or SSSTS.
- IOSH or NEBOSH.
- Experience with renewable technologies, including air source heat pumps.
- Experience working within healthcare, education or facilities management environments.
