We're supporting a leading financial services organisation on a critical data transformation programme and are looking for an experienced Senior Data Project Manager to join the team. This is an excellent opportunity to lead high-profile data initiatives within a heavily regulated environment, driving governance, compliance, and regulatory-focused projects while managing a team of skilled data professionals.
The Role
As the Data Project Manager, you will take ownership of key data programmes, ensuring successful delivery across data governance, regulatory compliance, and enterprise data management initiatives. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business and technology functions, while leading a team of 6 Data Engineers to deliver strategic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of data-focused projects and programmes within a regulated environment.
- Drive data governance initiatives, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Manage compliance and regulatory workstreams, mitigating risks and ensuring timely delivery.
- Oversee and support a team of 6 Data Engineers, providing leadership and direction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Engage with business, technology, risk, and compliance stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful execution.
- Track project milestones, budgets, risks, dependencies, and reporting to senior leadership.
Required Experience
- Proven experience delivering large-scale data projects within Financial Services, Banking, or other regulated industries.
- Strong understanding of Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Management, and Regulatory Compliance frameworks.
- Previous experience managing technical data teams, ideally including Data Engineers.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of project delivery methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches).
