Sparta Global are hiring a QA / Test Automation Engineer to join a growing platform team, working across both manual and automated testing. This is an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, requiring 3 days per week onsite in London. This is a hands-on role with a clear shift towards Java-based automation, offering strong progression opportunities as the team scales. You will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of platform upgrades, working within Agile delivery cycles to build and maintain effective test coverage.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute and maintain both manual and automated test cases
- Contribute to the development of Java-based test automation frameworks
- Support testing for platform upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption and high quality releases
- Work closely with developers, product teams and other QA engineers within Agile sprint cycles
- Identify defects, track issues and support resolution through to completion
- Continuously improve QA processes, tooling and test coverage
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in both manual and automation testing
- Strong interest or experience in Java-based test automation
- Familiarity with Agile / Scrum delivery environments
- Experience testing APIs using tools such as Postman or SoapUI
- Experience using IDEs such as IntelliJ
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Sonata testing tools
- Experience contributing to or building automation frameworks
- Exposure to platform or system upgrade testing
