Lecturer in Biology (A Level & BTEC) – Maternity Cover
Salary: Up to £39,201 FTE - pro rata for part-time (depending on qualifications and experience)
Working Pattern: Part-time (29.5 hours per week) - fixed-term for 12 months
Location: Andover Campus

We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic individual to teach A Level and BTEC Biology as maternity cover. You do not need previous experience of teaching in Further Education to apply. This role would suit either an experienced teacher or someone with strong subject knowledge who is looking to move into teaching for the first time. If you have not previously taught in Further Education, please do not be discouraged from applying. We are happy to support the right candidate to train while in post.
About the role
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning in Biology, supporting students to achieve their full potential and helping them to understand how Biology can support their future study and career choices. The role is based at our Andover Campus and you will be part of a supportive and collaborative team.
About you
- Have a strong background in Biology and enthusiasm for your subject
- Be able to communicate clearly and work well with young people
- Be organised, motivated and keen to develop teaching practice
Experience teaching Biology at A Level or BTEC is desirable, but not essential. Applications are welcome from candidates without previous FE teaching experience, including those considering a career change into education.
