Are you a dedicated and passionate educator looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of students? We are seeking Part Time Home Tutors to take on students who are not able to access full-time education within a school and are of low ability. We require a tutor to work 2 hours a day, Monday to Friday in the Stourport, DY13 area. Sessions will be on a 1:1 basis and weekly reports will be required. The tutor will be teaching Functional Skills English, PSHE, RSHE & Maths Entry Levels 1 & 2 with some basic sciences. They must have experience working with ADHD and ASD students at secondary level.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective lessons to students in Functional Skills English & Maths Entry Levels 1 & 2.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters learning and creativity.
  • Adapt to different teaching styles, curricula, and home settings.
  • Manage behaviour and ensure a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Collaborate with school staff and administrators to meet the educational needs of students.
  • Follow lesson plans and curriculum guidelines as provided.
  • Provide constructive feedback and assessment to support students' progress.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have a related degree, be an experienced teaching assistant, HLTA or teacher.
  • Have previous teaching experience (preferred).
  • Have strong communication and proactive classroom management skills.
  • Be resilient and able to respond well to feedback.
  • Have a dedication to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Be reliable and punctual with a commitment to fulfilling scheduled assignments.
  • Be able to engage with students with ASD, ADHD and SEMH.
