SparkEd Recruitment is working in partnership with a supportive and progressive school in Plymouth to appoint Behaviour Mentors to support students across Key Stages 3 and 4. This rewarding role focuses on working with young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Students may present with a range of challenges, including behavioural difficulties, anxiety, depression, and the impact of trauma. You will play a key role in helping them engage with their education and reach their full potential.
About the Role- Provide tailored behavioural and emotional support to students in and out of the classroom
- Work closely with teaching staff to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Support students in developing coping strategies, confidence, and social skills
- Help manage and de-escalate challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
- We are looking for individuals who are compassionate, adaptable, and committed to supporting young people with additional needs
- Patient and resilient, with a proactive and positive approach
- Interested in working with children with Autism, ADHD, and SEMH needs
- Previous school experience is advantageous but not essential. We welcome applications from graduates and individuals with transferable experience in areas such as childcare, psychology, youth work, or social care. Full training will be provided.
