Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality and engaging French & Spanish lessons to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
  • Inspire students to develop a love for the French & Spanish language and culture, helping them achieve fluency and confidence.
  • Use creative teaching strategies to enhance students’ language skills and cultural understanding.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver effective and well-structured lessons.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support to ensure continuous development.
  • Participate in the wider school community, contributing to extra-curricular activities and language-related events.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to promote the success of the Modern Foreign Languages department.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Is already a HOD or 2 i/c/experienced teacher that is looking for the next step up.
  • A degree in French/Spanish, Modern Languages, or a related subject.
  • Previous experience teaching French at Key Stage 3 and 4 (A-Level experience is desirable but not essential).
  • Passion for the French/Spanish language and culture, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • Strong classroom management skills and a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and parents.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to teaching and extracurricular involvement.
