About the Role

SparkEd Recruitment is partnering with a welcoming and forward-thinking school in Plymouth to recruit SEND Teaching Assistants to support students across Key Stages 1 to 4. This role involves working closely with pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), with a particular focus on those experiencing Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges. You will play a key role in helping students overcome barriers to learning, supporting individuals who may be dealing with behavioural difficulties, anxiety, depression, or the effects of trauma.

  • While previous experience working with young people—especially those with challenging behaviour—is beneficial, it is not essential, as full training and ongoing support will be provided.
  • The ideal candidate will be:

  • Eager to learn and develop professionally, regardless of prior school experience
  • From a background such as childcare, psychology, social care, or a related field (desirable)
  • Resilient and committed, with the ability to support students with complex needs, including Autism and ADHD
