About the Role

SparkEd Recruitment is partnering with a progressive and supportive school in Exeter to appoint dedicated Learning Support Assistants. This is a rewarding opportunity to support pupils across Key Stages 1 to 4, helping them engage with learning and reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Build positive relationships with students, supporting those who may experience anxiety, low mood, trauma, or behavioural challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to create a consistent and supportive learning environment.
  • Encourage student participation, confidence, and independence in their learning journey.

About You

  • Passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs.
  • Adaptable, proactive, and confident in responding to a variety of situations.
  • Motivated to learn and develop, with full training provided.
  • From relevant backgrounds such as childcare, psychology, youth work, or social care (graduates are welcome).
  • Patient, resilient, and committed to supporting pupils with complex needs, including Autism and ADHD.
  • Previous experience working with young people or handling challenging behaviour is advantageous, but not essential.
