Spark2Life is looking for a passionate Detached Casework Mentor to join our dedicated team in Lewisham. As a Detached Casework Mentor, you'll work directly with young people aged 11-24 who are at risk of, or already involved in, anti-social behaviour, offending or gang-related activity. This is a frontline role where you'll meet young people in their environment - estates, streets, parks and community spaces - to build trust, defuse conflict, and provide positive pathways into education, training and employment.

The Role of Detached Casework Mentor:

  • Work with young people (11-24) at risk of crime, gangs and exploitation.
  • Provide 1:1 mentoring in community settings such as estates, parks and youth hotspots.
  • Deliver conflict resolution and mediate tensions on the streets.
  • Support access to education, training and employment opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records on case management systems.
  • Collaborate with agencies and partners to provide joined-up support.

We're looking for a Detached Casework Mentor who:

  • Has strong communication and people skills.
  • Can engage and motivate young people in challenging environments.
  • Understands safeguarding, risk and child protection.
  • Can act as a positive role model and inspire change.
  • Has flexibility to work across different community settings.

Package:

  • Hours: 37.5 per week (full-time).
  • Contract: 1 year fixed-term.
  • Holidays: 25 days plus bank holidays.
