About Webigence and Spark Travel
Webigence has 25+ years of experience crafting UX-first, often highly complex software. Our engineers pair pragmatic, forward-thinking development practices with an obsession for intuitive design, shipping products that feel effortless even when the logic underneath is anything but.
Alongside a handful of long-standing third-party clients, we’re scaling our own SaaS product, Spark Travel, at pace. You’ll join a smart, collaborative, senior-led team that cares about clear thinking, sensible architecture, and building software that stands up in the real world.
Spark Travel is on a mission to drag the tailor-made travel industry into the 21st century. Our cloud-native platform brings together sales, itinerary building, supplier contracting, dynamic pricing, client proposals, payments, and on-trip operations - everything from the first enquiry to the traveller’s safe return.
We use AI and newer technologies where they clearly solve real problems, but we’re not chasing hype. Our priority is building a robust, elegant SaaS platform that helps travel professionals do complex work faster, better, and with more confidence.
We’re now looking for a down-to-earth, conscientious, hands-on Senior Software Developer to help us build the next stage of Spark and support selected long-standing Webigence client systems.
- Set high standards without over-engineering, and help us make good technical decisions that balance speed, quality, maintainability, and commercial reality.
- Build software that matters. Your work will directly improve how high-end travel companies sell, price, operate, and deliver complex tailor-made trips.
- Understand the problem, ask good questions, ship the solution, diagnose issues properly, and improve what already works.
- NET APIs, Angular front ends, SQL Server-backed workflows, Azure-hosted services, integrations, automations, and customer-facing product features.
- Help us scale confidently. As Spark grows, you’ll help us strengthen the platform, improve reliability, support more automation, and build functionality that can serve hundreds and then thousands of customers.
Remote within the UK, with occasional team meet-ups in London when useful.
- Work on mission-critical Spark modules such as pricing, itinerary building, proposals, supplier workflows, automations, client portals, and operational tooling.
- Contribute to selected long-standing Webigence client projects where needed, including mature business-critical systems outside Spark.
- Investigate and diagnose issues properly across browser, API, application logs, Azure services, and database layers.
- Work closely with Product, Design, QA, Customer Success, and other developers to turn complex requirements into intuitive software.
- Contribute to technical discussions, challenge assumptions constructively, and help improve how we build and release software.
- Use modern tooling sensibly, including CI/CD pipelines, Azure DevOps / GitHub Actions, Azure monitoring/logging tools, and AI-assisted development tools where appropriate.
- Be comfortable working in a remote-first team where clear written communication, ownership, and self-direction matter.
✅ You have 6+ years of commercial software development experience, with strong hands-on C# / .NET experience.
- You have built and supported modern web applications, ideally with Angular / TypeScript or another major JavaScript framework.
- You are comfortable working across APIs, front-end code, data access, integrations, and production troubleshooting.
- You can reason through a problem end-to-end: browser behaviour, API payloads, application logs, backend logic, Azure services, external integrations, and database state.
- You can explain technical decisions clearly, including trade-offs, risks, and alternatives.
- You care about usability and product quality, not just whether the code technically works.
- A 1st-class or 2:1 degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline is preferred.

- Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Service Bus, Storage, Key Vault, Application Insights, or related Azure services
