Role Summary

The Onshore Windfarm Medic will provide expert clinical care, emergency response, and health oversight to ensure the safety, wellbeing, and operational readiness of personnel working across windfarm sites. The role requires a highly competent and autonomous practitioner with a proven track record of delivering frontline medical services in remote, high-risk, and fast-paced environments, with a strong emphasis on preventative care, rapid response, and continuous improvement of health outcomes.

The postholder will hold accountability for the effective delivery of medical support services, including emergency preparedness, incident response, and occupational health monitoring, ensuring alignment with organisational health, safety, and environmental standards. Demonstrable experience in managing medical emergencies, conducting health assessments, and engaging proactively with site personnel to promote wellbeing and injury prevention is essential.

A key aspect of the role is the provision of strong clinical leadership and governance on site, ensuring compliance with relevant medical protocols, health regulations, and industry best practice. The Windfarm Medic will maintain clear documentation, contribute to incident reporting and reviews, and ensure seamless coordination with internal teams, emergency services, and external healthcare providers when required.

The role will require close collaboration with operational managers, health and safety teams, and senior stakeholders, providing expert advice, reporting on health trends, and supporting risk mitigation strategies across the windfarm portfolio. The Medic will play a critical role in influencing safe working practices and enhancing overall site resilience.

In addition, the postholder will contribute to the development of health capability across the workforce, including delivering first aid training, promoting a proactive safety culture, and supporting the continuous development of emergency response procedures. The role will champion a high-performance environment focused on safety, accountability, and excellence in care delivery.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate on-site medical response, including triage, assessment, and treatment of injuries and illnesses, ensuring safe stabilisation and evacuation in accordance with the Medical Emergency Response Plan (MERP).
  • Assess and manage medical emergencies in line with established clinical protocols, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct routine health checks and maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date medical records and documentation.
  • Ensure all on-site medical equipment, medicines, and supplies are regularly inspected, maintained, and fully operational at all times.
  • Deliver health awareness initiatives, including first aid training, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to support workforce capability and preparedness.
  • Work closely with site management to identify health risks, contributing to the implementation of preventative and control measures.
  • Liaise effectively with external medical providers and emergency services, coordinating medical evacuations and ensuring continuity of care.
  • Promote a proactive health and wellbeing culture through regular engagement with personnel, encouraging safe practices and early reporting of concerns.
  • Comply with all relevant legislation, professional standards, company policies, and confidentiality requirements, ensuring best practice is consistently maintained.
