The opportunity

We are looking for Field Robotics Support Engineers to join our team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role for someone early in their technical career who enjoys solving practical problems, learning new systems and working with customers. You will receive training and support while helping with robot installations, routine maintenance, troubleshooting and customer onboarding. The role is primarily based from our Newcastle office and includes regular travel to customer sites across the UK.

Key responsibilities

  • Installation and deployment
    • Assist with customer site surveys and preparation.
    • Install, configure and commission service and cleaning robots.
    • Support robot mapping, navigation setup and environment calibration.
    • Set up charging stations, workstations and network connections.
    • Help train users and support customers during go-live.
  • Maintenance and technical support
    • Carry out routine inspections, preventative maintenance and firmware updates.
    • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software and connectivity issues, escalating complex cases when needed.
    • Respond to service requests within agreed timeframes.
    • Support the management of spare parts, consumables and replacement components.
    • Use remote diagnostic tools to help troubleshoot issues.
  • Customer support
    • Provide friendly, professional on-site technical support.
    • Give customers clear operational guidance and user assistance.
    • Support product demonstrations, pilot projects and customer onboarding.
    • Build positive relationships that encourage successful long-term use of our robots.
  • Performance, records and logistics
    • Monitor robot performance and help improve maps, routes and workflows.
    • Complete installation reports, service logs, maintenance records and incident reports.
    • Maintain accurate records in internal systems.
    • Prepare equipment for installations and assist with stock and warehouse tasks.
    • Drive to customer sites, suppliers and the warehouse to transport equipment or materials when required.
    • Follow health and safety, data protection and company procedures.

What we are looking for

Essential

  • A practical interest in robotics, automation, electronics, IT support or engineering.
  • Basic technical troubleshooting skills and confidence learning new hardware and software.
  • Clear communication skills and a helpful, customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work independently after training and as part of a wider team.
  • Good organisation and accurate record keeping.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Helpful but not essential

  • Previous experience in technical support, field service, engineering or customer service.
  • A technical qualification, apprenticeship or relevant personal projects.
  • Familiarity with Android devices, IoT systems, robotics mapping or preventative maintenance.
